Anybus X -gateway sao chép I / O dữ liệu theocả hai hướng vì thế cho phép trao đổi dữ liệu giữa hai mạng . Cấu hình I / O mặc định là 16 byte Input và 16 byte Output, 2 byte trong mỗi hướng được sử dụng Control Word và Status Word . Thay đổi thiết lập mặc định rất đơn giản bằng cách thay đổi các thông số Fieldbus từ công cụ cấu hình CANopen . Một công cụ cấu hình CANopen bên ngoài được sử dụng để cấu hình các nút trên mạng CANopen . Kết quả các tập tin DCF ngắn gọn sẽ được tải về để làm chủ mạng CANopen sử dụng một bộ chuyển đổi CANopen . Toàn bộ được gói gọn trong một hộp nhỏ, CANopen X - gateway là một thiết bị mỏng tiêu chuẩn gắn kết DIN raii.
The ControlNet interface is implemented according to the ControlNet international specification for a Communication adapter (profile number 12). A connection to the ControlNet side can be opened from a ControlNet scanner. The size of the connection can be up to 450 bytes in each direction. The ControlNet module can be read or written to by UCMM (Unscheduled) messages from another ControlNet adapter (slave) or scanner (master). The module is equipped with two BNC contacts for connection to ControlNet. If redundant operation is desired, both connectors are used; otherwise either connector A or B is used. The module is also equipped with a NAP (Network access port) for temporary connection of configuration tools. The minimum Network update time, (NUT), of the module is 5ms.
